The CPSO has now approved an updated version the policy Ensuring Competence: Changing Scope of Practice and/or Re-entering Practice.

Ontario members need to review this policy now to determine if they will be required to declare a change in scope of practice when they renew their medical licence in June 2018.

The policy states in part:
Examples of changes in scope of practice that have been considered significant by the College include but are not limited to: 

A family physician who wishes to primarily practise and receive referrals for psychotherapy, disorders of the skin, or palliative care;"
