Re-learning Your ABC’s: A mini workshop for therapists to help clients navigate parenting their dysregulated child

November 25, 2024, 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Dr. Vivek Murthy, U.S. Surgeon General has released an advisory acknowledging that parents are under pressure. Stressors are high and children and parents are overwhelmed, dysregulated, and becoming more and more disconnected.

In this mini workshop, Dr. Julia Sen, psychologist, will walk you through re-relearning your ABC’s as a way to help your clients navigate parenting under pressure.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of the workshop you will be able to…

  1. Understand and explain what a secure Attachment looks like, why it’s important for emotion regulation, and how to guide your clients to start creating one with their child.
  2. Recognize the significance of why feeling a sense of Belonging within the family is the foundation for belonging in the world.
  3. Have a tool kit of self-Care exercises that parents can actually practice so they can implement the A’s and B’s and help their children (and themselves) feel calmer and develop confidence.
  4. Learn and be able to teach the BEFABulous technique, created by Dr. Sen, to deepen the attachment relationship and foster a sense of belonging in the family.
