Toronto Psychoanalytic Society (TPS) is a not-for-profit association of professional psychoanalysts engaged in the development and advancement of clinical psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic thought in Toronto. It was founded in 1965 as a branch of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society (CPS), a component society of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) founded by Freud, with headquarters in London, England.

This course is offered by the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society & Institute to mental health professionals interested in learning about the ideas and theories of psychoanalytic therapy. It combines teaching of basic concepts of psychoanalytic psychotherapy with presentation of clinical cases and explanations of therapy techniques. It starts in September and runs for 24 weeks. The FPP meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians and has been accredited for 56.0 Main-Pro M1 credits (2 Mainpro-M1 credits per session). The FPP has been recognized under section 1 of the Framework for Maintenance of Certification of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has been accredited for 56.0 Section 1 credits (2 Section 1 credits per session).
